The VARK Questionnaire
The VARK questionnaire proved what type of learner that I am.
V standing for Visual learner, the ability to learn effectively through seeing pictures or diagrams.
A standing for Aural, learning effectively through listening to someone e.g. a lecturer.
R for Reading / Writing, being able to read about a topic or information and learn effectively.
K for Kinestetic, in other words you like to simply do what is asked, a 'doing' learner.
The tick box questionnaire that i had done calculated me to being a Kinestetic learner, which to an extent i believe is quite true. I like to get things done and, also believe that by doing something even though it may not be quite the right way of doing it is the best way to learn, i.e. learn from my mistakes. I scored a total of 8 for this.
The second highest calcuation I got was being a reading and writing learner. This is surprising to me as i do not usually tend to use this as a way of learning i prefer much to listen and then do and have done through education. The total for this learning style was 7.
The other 2 learning styles which were in the Vark questionnaire (Visual and Aural) I had a low total of 3 and 4, meaning that Im not really a listener or do not tend to learn very much by pictures. This is true to an extent but I do believe that listening to someone who has a much greater knowledge than me does help me with what I am learning.

My Timeline
Looking at the Timeline I have created above over time the route to growing up has gradually got better as time went by. The older I got, the better I got at doing things, as well as gaining more independence. I am going to review each stage of this timeline, starting firstly with Primary school. As a child I was quite shy and placid, so settling in at a place that I weren’t used to prove quite upsetting at such a young age. Then when i got that little bit older I got into sports and started to play football which I believe proved a gain of confidence in talking with others, and therefore becoming less shy. At secondary school I become more relaxed and laid back with things like socialising and getting on with work, the start of growing up. After secondary school I improved my sports ability and gained a new level by playing for my county at pool, this was beneficial to me in ways that I can work under pressure which can prove invaluable to a future career. Once I joined college as soon as I turned 17 I wanted to drive, it was an ambition of mine for a while before turning 17 and I completed this, after 3 failed test attempts. Before I started to drive I realised that I needed an income, so gaining a job was another step towards growing up and gaining invaluable experience. My aim at college was to achieve the best grade that I could get, and i did so after spending 3 years on the same course, which looking back on was a big step in my life after all I would not be at University without this qualification, and it taught me to never let go of something important, as a lot of people who were going to spend 3 years on the same course as me dropped out but I stayed on because i knew that without the qualification at this current period getting a half decent job is hard. Now i am at University, which is yet another big step towards that big wide world.
